Where To Eat in Bali to satisfy your Instagram Feed!

I feel like this blog entry is haunting me everyday because it's already a year overdue. Hahahaha Yep, my Bali trip with my sister was exactly a year ago. And I have written zero blog posts about it. Lelz We didn't do much activities in Bali except for eating and walking-- more like walking along any shopping spots we could find.

Balinese food is not hard to come by in Bali but I was very particular in the restaurants we visited because I was really aiming for instagram-worthy places. LOL Not even gonna lie, we were collecting photos for our instagram feeds majority of the time. Below are some restaurants in Ubud, Kuta and Seminyak that will satisfy the inner blogger in you! Price is also a huge concern for us so most of the meals in these restaurants are cheap. If you're not a picky eater, there are a lot of warungs (restaurants) along the road that cost way, way cheaper.

1. Slimut Lidah Restaurant
Address: Jl. Raya Nyuh Kuning Blok 2A, MAS, Ubud
Price Range: 50.000-100.000 IDR per pax
Ubud is this little province in Bali where Julia Roberts went in Eat, Pray, Love. If you ever find yourself in Ubud, search Slimut Lidah in Google Maps and you won't be disappointed. They serve authentic Balinese food amidst an intense white setting- perfect for your instagram feeds of course! That's what you're here for, right? Hahaha
I'm a really picky eater so I only order the ones familiar to me. All I ate in Bali were Nasi (Rice), pizza and tacos. Haha This particular Nasi Goreng (fried rice) is quite spicy for my palate though (pero maarte lang talaga ako, feeling ko okay naman siya for others hahahaha)

2. Warung Ibu Oka
Address: Jalan Suweta, Ubud
Price Range: 75.000-100.000 IDR per pax
They say the best Babi Guling aka pig roast aka the lechon of Indonesia can be found in Warung Ibu Oka. They have a lot of branches and thankfully, one of them is in Ubud. It's really easy to find (especially if your search Mr. Google Maps for it Haha) since it's popular among tourists. Babi Guling has more spices and is literally spicier compared to our lechon. I still prefer the Filipino lechon since you can eat as it is.

3. Taco Casa
Address: Jalan Raya Pengosekan, Ubud
Price Range: 60.000-100.000 IDR per pax

Best Tacos everrrrrr! We literally passed by this every day because it's near our hotel. Their serving is really generous and very affordable too!

4. Motel Mexicola
Address: Jl. Kayu Jati No.9, Seminayk, Kuta
Price Range: 80.000-150.000 per pax

Motel Mexicola was in my must-try restaurants when I was preparing our itinerary because I've seen a lot of photos taken there on instagram. It won't disappoint instagram-wise but the servers were really rude to the customers who were taking photos around the restaurant.

Food isn't great, either. Taco Casa is waaaaaay better!

6. The Bistrot
Address: Jl. Kayu Aya No.117, Seminyak
Price Range: 70.000-100.000 IDR per pax
We literally just came across this place after walking under the scorching heat in Seminyak. It looked like an expensive place from afar but to our surprise, the prices were actually reasonable.
I must say, it's the perfect hangout place for Titas!

I apologize for the low-quality iPhone shots, but I do hope you like this entry! If you have any recommendations for instagram-ready restaurants anywhere in the world, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll see if I can check them out in the near future.

Arabela Camello's Bakehaus & Coffee Shop, Liliw, Laguna

Amidst the sea of slippers in Liliw, Laguna sits a quaint litte Café by the name of Arabela Camello's Bakehaus & Coffee Shop. I, together with my orgmates spontaneously decided to have a roadtrip + foodtrip to Liliw the other day. Normally, I get really tired come Tuesday of the week due to lab classes and whatnots, but yay for a surprisingly no-exam week! I can finally do whatever I want ;)
After driving in what seemed like a never-ending road, we arrived at Arabela past 3pm. And to our surprise, the little CafĂ© is really little after all. They have really low ceilings that probably anyone over 5'5 won't fit inside when standing. But upon sitting, I realized the limited floor space and low ceiling really do add up to the experience.
Italian Pasta (P110). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This dish put my favourite pasta place in Elbi to shame Haha At a really cheap price, you get more than what you pay for.
Fetuccine (P110). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You can never go wrong with all their pasta dishes!
Frappucino (P120). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Milky Way (P120). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The server said this had a hint of wine but there wasn't even a hint of taste in it. It was yummy, nonetheless!
Bacon Chicken Cheese Pizza (P120). ⭐️⭐️ As much as I loved all their pasta dishes, I cannot say the same for the pizza. The crust lived up to its thinness but it wasn't crunchy enough to my liking and the toppings didn't really mixed well.
1/4 Baby Back Ribs (P230). ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It wasn't that bad but you're better off trying the pasta dishes.
Brownies (P16). ⭐️⭐️ Dulce de Leche and Choco Marble brownies. Didn't really liked it that much. I believed they can do better than this. I can't say the same for their cakes since I wasn't able to try them. Hopefully in our next visit, I will.
We left the place full and satisfied. I don't think I can drive with a stomache that full so I asked if we could walk along Liliw for a bit.
The church wall made up for a lovely obligatory group photo background.
How to get to Arabela Camello's Bakehaus & Coffee Shop, Liliw, Laguna:
Via Private Vehicle:
There are various ways on how to get there but if you're coming from Manila, take the South Luzon Expressway and then Calamba Exit.
Option 1 (via Sta. Cruz): Take the National Road and then drive all the way to Santa Cruz, to San Luis Road in Pagsanjan and then Liliw-Magdalena Road to reach your destination.
Option 2 (via Pila): Take the National Road and then drive all the way to Pila-Calumpang Road, Nagcarlan-Calumpang Road and then to Nagcarlan-Liliw Road to reach your destination.
Option 3 (via Victoria): Take the National Road and then drive all the way to Victoria. Upon seeing the huge ducks, turn right to Calauan-Nagcarlan Road and then to Nagcarlan-Liliw Road to reach your destination.
Option 4 (via San Pablo): Take the National Road and then drive all the way to San Pablo. Take the Road to Rizal, Nagcarlan and then to Liliw.
We took Option 3 and I ended up feeling nauseous after the drive so I drove via Option 4 on the way home. Best route is Option 4 in my opinion. :)

Via Public Vehicle:
Take Sta. Cruz Laguna buses, get off at Pagsawitan in Sta. Cruz and then take a jeepney to Liliw.
Upon reaching the town proper, turn right at the 3rd street on your right and then turn left when you see Badong's shop. Arabela is at Rizal street in Liliw, Laguna. Please note that they are closed on Mondays except holidays.
